The Remember Foundation was created to offer support at Alzheimer’s patients and their families and was established by interested citizens and various medical providers from the Prowers County area. As the nation’s ‘Baby Boomers’ continues to age and current senior citizens grow older, physicians across the country note the increase in Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia. An estimated 5 million persons are now afflicted with some form of the disease and is now the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. The estimated cost to the nation in 2013 for treatment and effects of Alzheimer’s is $203 billion.
