Edith Marie Brown…January 18, 1931 – June 10, 2013

A Service of Celebration for lifelong Lamar resident, Edith M. Brown will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Brother Jim Pritchard of the Church of Christ in Shawnee, Oklahoma officiating. Per Mrs. Brown’s request, cremation will follow the chapel service and a private family interment of the ashes will be held at a later date.

Visitation for Mrs. Brown will be held from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Peacock Funeral Home. The Brown family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.

Edith was born on January 18, 1931 in Lamar to Lee and Esther (Nettleton) Carter and passed away at the age of 82 on Monday, June 10, 2013 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving her is her husband of 54 years, Darrell of the family home, her three children; Sheryl (Gene) Burton of Lamar, Johnny Brown of Severna Park, MA and David (Denise) Brown of Newton, AL. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren; Nathan, Taylor, Mitchell, Jonathon, Adam and Morgan Brown as well as a great granddaughter Destiny, her sisters; Ellen Pullen of Bryan, TX and Mildred Nidey of Lamar, other relatives and many friends.
