Library to Host One Book 4 Colorado Giveaway Party

At 1:00 pm this Saturday, May 11th, the Lamar Public Library will be hosting its One Book 4 Colorado Giveaway Party.  This year, the library will be giving away the book “Duck on a Bike” by David Shannon.  Every 4-year-old will be going home with a book, but the entire family is encouraged to attend the event and take part in the fun.  This event is free and open to the public.

This is the culminating event for the One Book 4 Colorado reading initiative.  One Book 4 Colorado is a statewide effort that aims to instill a love of reading and promote early literacy.  To ensure school readiness, it is critical that four-year-olds have frequent and routine access to books and that they be read to consistently.  The organization provides a selected book to all Colorado four-year olds to help address these issues.
