The Lamar Honkers congratulated Pastor Douglas Sanford and his congregation on their recent move to a new church on West Highway 50 in Lamar.

After being headquartered at the Wiley Community Center for the past eight years, the Valley Baptist Church in Wiley has moved to their beautifully renovated facilities.

The church is on the north side of the highway, and was a vacant building for a number of years. Pastor Douglas Sanford, who hails from Kirk, Colorado, said half the building is used for a sanctuary and the remaining half will be a fellowship hall.

Pastor Sanford said his congregation has about 20 members and the new location will offer more visibility and a better location, even if some parishioners have to drive a bit farther to attend services. Sunday school is held at 9:30am, Sunday Worship is at 10:30am and evening worship is at 6pm. Wednesday services begin at 7pm. Call 829-4803 for information regarding church hours and worship services.
