C.F. Maier Composites, Inc. specializes in the custom manufacturing of fiber reinforced products, which is commonly referred to as FRP or fiberglass. The company opened its first facility in Lamar, Colorado in 1990, and due to a steady growth trend, the branch in Golden, Colorado opened in 1999 which has allowed C.F. Maier to serve the Denver area. The Golden branch is the office headquarters and manufactures small production prototypes and Lamar’s branch remains as the main production facility.
A bit of history on C.F. Maier: the C.F. Maier Group (CFMG) is a medium-sized group of companies based out of Germany with seven other members located across Europe and one in the Northern African continent. CFMG is a European leader in the plastics and fiberglass industry and was established back in 1925. In 1990, C.F. Maier Composites, Inc. became the only North American member of CFMG in Lamar, Colorado.
C.F. Maier Composites (C.F. Maier) has been successfully owned and operated by the Thurner family who remain highly involved on all levels of their business from office management, to fiberglass design, to locking-in negotiations, and the overall manufacturing process. Together, this family has managed to design and create many fiberglass solutions for parts and products that have required corrosion resistance, adaptability, and reliability. The benefits that fiberglass provides has created a situation where the manufacturer and the end-user find themselves stating, “I could not do without it [fiberglass product] today.”
As a 23 year old local business in Lamar, C.F. Maier has shown to be rather active with its community affairs and over the years they have been granted the opportunity to work with the City to manufacture and/or repair park benches, trash receptors, flower pots, light posts, and a few other projects around town. Some of this work can be visually found in Downtown Lamar along Main Street. Additionally, the company has helped maintain or repair two of Lamar’s main attraction sights, the Train Depot and the Enchanted Forrest. C.F. Maier has enjoyed this involvement as it has allowed them to contribute to the development of their very own community. The manufacturer also enjoys building good business-to-business relationships with Lamar’s local companies giving CFMC great comfort knowing that they have reliable vendors and/or suppliers.
Over their years in business, the Thurner family has worked diligently towards customer satisfaction and this has allowed them to create valuable business strategies solely to benefit each customer’s unique requirements. As such, C.F. Maier’s mission is to authentically learn about the individual needs of each customer and offer quality solutions that customers can embrace and depend on. Our client’s products range from light, small, to oversized tanks and parts and each part or product must be manufactured with durability and reliability. Many of our customer’s products require changes to suit the trendy needs of their end-users and our customers know they can rely on C.F. Maier to redesign for their needs. This is precisely why we have recently designed and manufactured stock tanks that, we feel, will be beneficial to all of our ranching neighbors in Southeastern Colorado. Fiberglass stock tanks are perfect for cattle’s drinking water as they are made to be durable, mobile, 100% rust-free, and can be manufactured based on NRCS regulations when needed.
Both Colorado facilities in Lamar and Golden are operated by the Thurner family and are open from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. We appreciate the opportunity to describe our history in the fiberglass industry, our community involvement, and the commitment we offer our customers.
