Turkey Hunting 201 Class in Limon

LIMON, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a chance for beginning turkey hunters to expand their skills and learn even more about the sport. A free “Turkey Hunting 201” course will be offered 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 27, at the Limon Community Center.

In order to participate, hunters must have completed hunter education. This course will expand on the skills taught in Turkey Hunting 101. It would benefit the hunter to have previously attended a “Turkey Hunting 101” class, but it is not a prerequisite. This is a field course, and will include information on scouting and hunting techniques.

Hunters need to bring their own shotgun, but targets and other basic turkey hunting equipment will be provided. The class will not actually be hunting turkeys but participants will be target shooting and patterning shotguns with instructor guidance.

The class is limited to 20 participants so advanced registration is required. To register, call 719-227-5200.
