City Sales Tax Shows YTD Gain

Total Sales and Use Tax Collections for the City of Lamar showed a 5% Year to Date increase compared to this same time in 2012. That shows a $42,368.38 increase with total collections to date at $890,050.96, compared to 2012 of $847.682.58.
February sales taxes collected in March showed a 3.61% improvement over last year at that poing for a gain of $8,833.79. Although City Sales Taxes for that period were off 3.45%, the difference was made up in Use Tax Collected at 117.93% and Other Collections that were improved 51.42% over last year.
The twelve Retail Categories for basic tax collection reference for the City of Lamar was, for the most part, flat in comparisons to 2011 and 2012 for January through March in each of the years:
