Give them a call at: 719.688-5246 (Kynlee) or 719-691-0520 (Kaity)
Kaity (Higgins) moved to Lamar from Wichita, Kansas in elementary school and attended Lamar Schools. She is the daughter of Mandy Burton and Blake Higgins. She is the oldest of three siblings; she has a younger brother named, Wesley and a sister, Brittany. She graduated from Lamar High School in 2007. Once she was finished with high school Kaity enrolled in courses at Lamar Community College, completing Associates of Science in May of 2010, and received her Associates of Applied Science in Cosmetology in May of 2011.
In November of 2012 she married Joshua Emick, son of Donald and Tana Emick, and the two live in Lamar. The couple is expecting a baby boy in July. Since becoming a licensed cosmetologist, Kaity has been working with Kynlee Emick. The two began in a smaller salon on Olive Street and recently moved to their new location at 105 East Elm. Kaity also works as a cosmetology instructor at Lamar Community College, and instructs up and coming cosmetologists, hairstylists, and nail technicians.
Kynlee Emick, daughter of Bill and Patti Emick, grew up in Lamar, Colorado. She graduated high school in 2004 and moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado to live with her sister Gretchen Emick and attend Cheeks International Academy of Beauty Culture. After graduating with a cosmetology license Kynlee went on to work at Regis Salon at Centerra and also at Michael of the Carlyle Salon in Denver. In the winter of 2007 she moved to Key West, Florida, until 2009 when she got back into doing hair and worked part time with her Cousin Stacie at the Hair House in Lamar.
Since her return, Kynlee went out on her own to open Deja Vu Salon. The original location was off of Olive Street and it was a smaller facility. As soon as Kaity graduated, Kynlee asked her to join in the salon. The two stayed at that location until March of 2013 and are now pleased to announce they have now opened new doors to Deja Vu Salon!
