Leadership Development Conference for 4-Hers

Prowers County – Twelve members from Powers County along with others members throughout the state met in Denver for the annual Leadership Development Conference. The highlight of the 3-day event, was meeting the senators and representatives. Colorado 4-H day was proclaimed.

Other activities of the conference included many leadership workshops. Dancing and banquets were held to meet and greet other members throughout the state. The 4-Hers were welcomed by a Rules and Safety presentation. Following this, there were icebreakers, think tanks, and District night out. More think tanks were held the next day which explored why many 4-Hers belong to the organization. Leadership Development Conference is held for members 14-18 yrs. old. First year attendee, Miranda Morgan, from Wiley 4-H, stated, “I had an amazing time at LDC and I got to meet so many new people and learn a lot of new things! I can’t wait till I can go again next year:). “

The next opportunity for senior members to meet other members from southern Colorado will be District Retreat, which will be held March 15-17. Anyone interested in joining 4-H should contact Prowers County Extension at 336-7734.
