The Lamar Eagles Aerie & the Lamar Chamber of Commerce Honkers jointly sponsored a “Comedy Night” in January. With comic relief, money was raised to support the two local charities of SECCI – South Eastern Colorado Cancer Initiative & the Remember Foundation. Both organizations support families in southeastern Colorado with expenses related to supporting individuals with cancer (SECCI-Cathy Buxton) and expenses related to the support and care of individuals with Alzheimer’s or Dementia (Remember Foundation – Holly Burton). Both charitable organizations received $500.00 from the proceeds of the event. Thank you to all who attended and shared in the fun of the evening.

The next Comedy Night fundraiser will be Friday, April 5th, at the Lamar Eagles Aerie, 1220 South Main Street, in Lamar. The Eagles will be preparing dinner that evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the comedy show will begin at 7:30 p.m. This event will be open to the public – you do not need to be a member to attend the show. Headlining Comic is Matt Baca with feature Vinnie Montez. Tickets are limited and will be available by talking with any Lamar Honker or at the Lamar Eagles Aerie (719-336-3780).
