Recycle Your Yellowbook

A new year brings new phonebook listings.  The Yellowbook group out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa has issued an information release letting local citizens know they can safely recycle their old Yellowbooks.

The Pueblo edition of Yellowbook will soon be issued and the company sent a notification to the City of Lamar asking that recycling information be passed on to local residents.  The Yellowbook beginning delivery date is March 18, 2013 and copies will be distributed to area households through April 22.

Residents have a choice regarding future phone book directories and can opt-out by visiting www.yellowpagesoptout.com and can access recycling information at:
www.recycleyellowbook.com.

Yellowbooks are already made from recycled materials such as fiber, discarded wood chips and pulp; are printed with biodegradable soy ink; bound together with vegetable based glue and recycled phone books can be made into cellulose insulation and boxes and containers.

This information was provided by Lamar City Clerk, Linda Williams, who said that on the matter of recycling, city department heads are currently planning a city-wide spring clean up day, but the specific date is still being considered.
