Ella Pauline (Williams) Splitter

Funeral services for Holly, CO resident, Pauline Splitter will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Holly, Colorado with Rev. Kathy Leathers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday, January 21, 2013 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly.

Ella Pauline (Williams) Splitter, age 99 of Holly, Colorado went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 18, 2013, at her home.

Pauline Splitter, one of six children, was born Ella Pauline Williams on March 2, 1913 to Roy Charles and Irene Miranda Williams. She received her primary education at Libby School near Little River, Kansas. She graduated from high school in 1931 in Sterling, Kansas. On November 15, 1931 she was united in marriage to Wesley Simon Splitter in Lorraine, Kansas. They lived and farmed in Lorraine until the spring of 1942 when they moved into a 3 room house located 5 miles south of Sheridan Lake, Colorado. They soon began to build first a barn and then a house to accommodate their growing family of 7. They continued on the farm for a lot of years. They then moved to Hastings, Nebraska, Rye, Walsenburg, La Junta, and Lamar, Colorado. She then moved to her present location on July 4, 2000.

Pauline always enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. She loved to quilt and sew. She was always actively involved in the churches she attended.

She was such a loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Pauline is survived by her seven children: Harold (Kaye) Splitter of Holly, CO; Estella (Calvin) Christiansen of Jefferson City, MO; Eugene (Judy) Splitter of Sheridan Lake, CO; Marcella (Dennis) Cockroft of Holly, CO; Gilbert Splitter of Rohnert Park, CA; Barbara (Roy) Stokes of Gering, NE; and Dorothy (Bill) Frey of Holly, CO. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lulu Mae Coates of Jerome, ID and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many, many friends.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Splitter; her parents, Roy Charles and Irene Miranda Williams; 2 sisters, Nellie (Lickley) Lattimer and Margarette (Peg) Zimmerman; 2 brothers, Edwin Williams and Clifford Williams; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Splitter and a great-grandson, Zachariah (Zach) Splitter.
