Letter to the Editor: Dear Editor,

I am writing to affirm my support of Wendy Buxton-Andrade for Prowers County Commissioner. Both Wendy and her husband Greg’s families are rooted in our county. I know how deeply they care for our community and its future. As parents, they share with many of us a deep concern for our county’s economic well being. Wendy and Greg share my anxiety that we will have to say goodbye to our children after college, as they will not be able to make a good living in Prowers County. Wendy has been engaged in work to address this problem. Wendy is uniquely-suited to this challenge, because of her business experience, her involvement in our community, and her connections at both the state and federal levels of government. Not only does Wendy operate her own medical staffing business, but she also serves as a substitute teacher in our schools. She is well-acquainted with our youth and teachers’ challenges. I have also talked to Wendy at meetings of the HOPE Center after school program and the LiveWell Health Coalition. Wendy demonstrates her commitment to the community by the enormous amount of time she spends in town, county commissioner, and service organizations’ meetings. She has essentially been on the job for the last year without pay. I know that Wendy and her husband have spent more than a year meeting with state and local officials to investigate opportunities for our community’s economic development. As everyone knows, politics is about the connections one has, and Wendy and her husband have established strong working relationships with Representative Cory Gardner of the US Congress, Representative Jerry Sonnenberg of the Colorado Assembly, and several others. I am voting for Wendy Buxton-Andrade, because she is approachable, is involved in our community, has been working for more opportunity and economic growth for our county, and has impeccable character. Please, join me in electing Wendy Buxton-Andrade, and choosing a brighter future for Prowers County.

Sincerely,

Karl Nieschburg
