Big Timbers History Corner #2

Despite the serrated edges and the tongs, this is NOT a device from an old-time kitchen! It’s a baby holder, used in the J. H. Ward photo studios to prop tiny ones up so they could have their portraits taken. The babies who sat here long ago are now old enough to be enjoying pictures of their great-grandchildren, shot with digital cameras or cell phones!
Speaking of descendants, why don’t you bring yours out to visit the Big Timbers Museum? Admission is only $3 for individuals; $5 lets you bring the whole family for a fun learning experience that also helps preserve our Prowers County heritage for future generations. Open 1 – 4 pm Tuesday – Saturday. Call 336-2472 for more details.
