Lamar School Board Meets this Monday, April 9

The RE-2 District Board will consider some staff changes during the Monday meeting beginning at 6:30pm.  For the 2012-2013 school year, the board will vote to eliminate a secretarial and custodial position at the high school, a math interventionist at the middle school and the transportation secretary position as of December 1, 2012.

Personal changes will involved the transfer of Terri Farmer from the middle school principal’s office to superintendent secretary at the central office for the 2012-2013 year at a date to be determined.  Current secretary Amy Montgomery announced her retirement from the position at an earlier meeting.  Resignations will be accepted from David Case, Spanish teacher at the high school, Lola Medders, third grade teacher from Parkview elementary and Julia Wickstrom, a math teacher from the high school.  The board will also act on contract renewals for probationary and non probationary teachers for the next school year.

The board will also approve the revised school calendar for the 2012-2013 year in light of the new four day school week, as well as approve the period schedule change for the high school.  The agenda also includes approval for several study trips, including high school FBLA competition later this month in Vail and a high school band trip to compete in Denver in May.
