Lamar City Sales Tax Collections are Up

The Sales Tax collections for the City of Lamar are up 3.79% for January and up 4.47% for Total Sales and Use Tax Collections for a gain of $10,588.01 over the same period in 2011.
Year-to-Date City Sales Tax collections are up 3.53% and Total Sales and Use Tax collections are up 2.51% for a gain over last year of $14,786.13.
Of the twelve Retail Sales categories for Sales and Use Tax collections through this February, Groceries are down; Clothing and Shoes are steady with last year. Furniture and Convenience Stores also noted a slight drop, but other categories showed an increase.
