Doris J. Hughes-Hernandez…July 1, 1948 – February 13, 2012

      A Celebration of life service for Longtime Lamar resident Doris J. Hughes-Hernandez will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday February 17, 2012 at the Lamar Community Building in Lamar, Colorado. Rev. Ian Blacker will officiate and burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado.

      Visitation for Doris will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday February 16, 2012 and from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Friday February 17, 2012 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, Colorado.

    Doris was born July 1, 1948 at Lamar, Colorado to Lester and Freda LaCost. She departed this life on Monday February 13, 2012 at her home in Lamar with her family at her side at the age of 63.

       She was preceded in death by her father Lester LaCost of Wiley, CO. in 1998; by her mother Freda LaCost of Wiley, CO. in 1999; by her son Marc. D. Hughes of Lamar, CO. on November 15, 1997; by a brother Mark LaCost of Lamar, CO. in 1997; and by her mother-in-law Vera Hernandez of Lamar, CO. on June 23, 2003.

      Doris is survived by her husband Ralph Hernandez of their home in Lamar, CO.; by three children Memri (Jose) Lopez of Lamar, CO. , Felicity (Jon) Jones of Lamar, CO., and Pascual (April) Hernandez of Lamar, CO.; by three grandchildren Ashton Lopez, Alijah Lopez, and Alyssa Quinones, all of Lamar, CO.; by six brothers and sisters Claire (Pete) Rogers of Las Cruces, N.M., Gene (Shirley) LaCost of Lamar, CO., Dave (Sylvia) LaCost of Lamar, CO., Ed (Frances) LaCost of Lamar, CO., Duane (Pam) LaCost of Kendall, KS., and Karen (Marlin) Sperra of Wiley, CO.; Also surviving is her father-in-law Pascual Hernandez of Lamar, CO. , as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many many friends.
