A memorial service for Lamar resident William “Biff” Harral will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 18, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lamar, Colorado. Rev. Jeff Alexander will officiate. Fraternal ritual services under the auspices of Lamar Elk’s Lodge #1319 will also be done at the church service. A family graveside in-urnment will follow at a later time in the Veterans Section of Fairmount Cemetery, Lamar, Colorado.
Per Biff’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
Mr. Harral was born on February 28, 1927 at Denton, Texas and departed this life on Saturday January 14, 2012 at Juniper Village in Lamar at the age of 84.
Biff was preceded in death by his father William F. Harral, Sr. of Argyle, TX. in 1976; by his mother Eula Harral of Argyle, TX. in 1990; by his wife JoAnne Harral of Lamar, CO. on May 3, 2008; by two sisters Peggy Zaeske of Nixon, TX. and Edith “Deeter” Grosse of Lake Dallas, TX.; and by two brothers Roy Reed of Denton, TX. and Elwood Harral of Argyle, TX.
He is survived by two children Gary (Diane) Harral of Ottawa, Canada and Marsha (Joseph) Backes of Lamar, CO.; by four grandchildren Glenys (Joe) Ransom of London, England, Kristina (Greg) Cook of Alamosa, CO., Melissa Backes of Alamosa, CO., and Michael (Kidron) Backes of Lamar, CO.. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren; one sister Elsie (Doug) Brearley of Denton, TX.; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
