To the citizens of Prowers County.
Following many hours of deliberation and sleepless nights I am hereby announcing my decision not to seek re-election to the Prowers County Board of County Commissioners.
My passion for Prowers County remains unchanged and I will continue to fulfill the last year of my second term with the same commitment and drive I have given the last seven years.
This decision has been one of the more difficult ones of my life. I have taken great pride in my service to the citizens of Prowers County and Southeast Colorado as your Commissioner.
There simply aren’t enough hours in the day to fulfill the elevated duties of a dedicated Commissioner and the responsibilities of owning two growing businesses in our County. I have always believed in giving 100 percent in what I do. Anything less is not acceptable.
I especially wish to thank my wife for her understanding of my commitment and the citizens whom have been so very supportive of my efforts. I will be happy to work with any candidate to fill my seat to facilitate a smooth transition following my last year of service.
Thank You very much.
Gene Millbrand
