Phyllis J. Keenan…November 7, 1943 – December 3, 2011

             A celebration of life memorial service for longtime Baca County resident, Phyllis J. Keenan, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday December 7, 2011 at the Springfield United Methodist Church.  Pastor Eric Feuerstein of the Springfield United Methodist Church will officiate and a private family in-urnment service will be held at a later date.
            Per Phyllis’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation.
            Mrs. Keenan was born on November 7, 1943 in Lamar, Colorado to Clarence E. and Martha Ann (Marriott) Weeden and departed this life on Saturday December 3, 2011 at her home in Springfield with her family by her side at the age of 68.
            Mrs. Keenan was preceded in death by her parents; by one brother – Bill Weeden; and by two nephews – Edward Weeden and David Weeden.
            Phyllis is survived by one child – Bob (Jean) Keenan of Springfield; by two grandchildren – Steve (Andrea) Keenan of Springfield; and Dawn Keenan (Joe) of Trinadad; by two great grandchildren – Kaden and Gavin; by her significant other – Bill Greathouse of the family home in Springfield; and by numerous adopted grandchildren; also surviving are several other relatives and a host of friends.
            The family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to either the Lamar Area Hospice – PO Box 843; Lamar, CO 81052 or to the Baca County Hospice – PO Box 1067; Springfield, CO 81073 direct or in care of the funeral home office.
