Lamar City Sales Tax Revenue Posts Another Gain

Lamar City Sales Tax collected for October was up 3.92% over last year, for a gain of $8,988.42. However Use Tax and Other collections were in the negative column, so Total Sales and Use Tax Collections were up only 1.23% for a $3,118.51 gain over the year. Total collections for October 2011 were $255,689.48.
Year-to-Date Collections showed a gain of 2.62% on Total Sales and Use Tax Collections for a difference over last year of $75,876.73. YTD collections for 2010 were $2,896,096.12, and for 2011 they were at $2,971,972.85.
With one or two exceptions, YTD Sales and Use Tax Revenue for 2011 was leading the twelve Retail Sales figures for the previous year and for 2009.
