A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Lamar, Colorado resident James L. “Jim” Beckett will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday December 28, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar, CO. Mr. Les Fellows will officiate. There will be a private family scattering of cremains at a later date.
Per the family’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public viewing.
Mr. Beckett was born July 19, 1938 at Mullinsville, Kansas and departed this life on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at his home in Lamar with family at his side at the age of 73.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Roy J. Beckett of Hugoton, KS.; and by two brothers Roy D. Beckett of Phoenix, AZ. and Phil Beckett of Ordway, CO..
He is survived by his wife Toni Beckett of the family home in Lamar, CO.; by his mother Glenna Beckett of Hugoton, KS.; by two sons Tom (Jodi) Beckett of Kiowa, CO. and Steve Beckett of Colorado Springs, CO.; by one grandson James Beckett of Kiowa, CO.; by two brothers Larry (Denise) Beckett of Wiley, CO. and Mike (Marissa) Beckett of Beaver, OK.; and by two sisters Linda (Marv) Steele of Estes Park, CO. and Carole (Jerry) Monks of Limon, CO.. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many good friends.
