Elsie M. Rushton…April 13, 1920 – December 16, 2011

   A celebration of life service for lifelong Holly Colorado resident Elsie M. Rushton will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 21, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado.  Kevin May – minister will officiate and burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery.

    Visitation for Mrs. Rushton will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday December 20, 2011 and from 9:00 A.M. to Service Time Wednesday December 21, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, CO.

     Elsie was born on April 13, 1920 in rural Holly, Colorado and departed this life on Friday December 16, 2011 at the Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse, Kansas at the age of 91.

    Elsie was preceded in death by her father Edward W. Barnes of Holly, CO. on April 15, 1959; by her mother Tillie E. Kuhn-Barnes of Holly, CO. on December 23, 1966; by a grandson Barry Jones of Fairplay, CO. on July 3, 1986; by four sisters Hattie Wright of Boise, ID., Ethel Kerns of Holly, CO., Bertha Groff of Boise, ID., and Muriel Harper of Holly, CO.; and by five brothers Charlie Barnes of Holly, CO., Perry Barnes of Ulysses, KS., Lou Barnes of Holly, CO., Elmer “Bus” Barnes of Holly, CO., and Clifford Barnes of Holly, CO..

     She is survived by her husband Hugh Rushton of Holly, CO.; by three daughters Rose Marie (Jerry) Jones of Holly, CO., Betty (Duane) Headrick of Turpin, OK., and Connie (David) Miller of Lakin, KS.; by  7 grandchildren; 4 Step-Grandchildren;  16 Great Grandchildren; 10 Step Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and 2 Step Great Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
