Prowers Conservation District will be holding an 8-digit watershed meeting on November 21, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Division of Wildlife Armory-2500 South Main Street, in Lamar. Lunch & drinks will be provided by the Prowers Conservation District (with RSVP by November 7, we will need a head count for lunch). The goal of this session is to provide landowners information about what an 8-digit watershed is, resource concerns, provide landowners an opportunity to identify natural resource concerns and what the Prowers Conservation District can do to help.
Some of the topics that we will be covering will be Rapid Watershed Assement; 8-digit watersheds; CIG pond study; water quality; Water Augmentation and policies and water agencies. Some of the speakers that we have lined out are:
Ashley Ross-CSCD, Ryan Hemphill-CSU, Jay Winner-LAWCD, Lane Simmons-CSU, Don McBee-Prowers Conservation District, Nathan Schmitz-Pheasants Forever and Kelly Corman-Range-Wildlife Ecologist.
Everyone is welcome to come and join us for a very informational meeting, and have lunch with us. We will have handouts and we will be giving away door prizes.
