Jess Joseph Knobbe…May 28, 1925 – November 2, 2011

    A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident Jess J. Knobbe will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Davis officiating. Internment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, Colorado. 

            Visitation for Mr. Knobbe will be held from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, November 04, 2011 at the Peacock Funeral Home.

           Jess was born May 28, 1925 at Marienthal, Kansas  to Joseph B. and Estella (Cummins) Knobbe and departed this life on November 2, 2011 at The Legacy in Lamar at the age of 86.

           Jess is preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe and Estella (Cummins) Knobbe of Marienthal, Kansas and by his brother, Vern Knobbe of Leoti, Kansas.

             Mr. Knobbe is survived by his five children:  Steve (Linda) Knobbe of Lamar, Renee’ (Tim) Hughes of Greeley, Jan Johnson of Parker, Kyle (Ellen) Knobbe of Pueblo, and Chris (Sherri) Knobbe of Sherman, Texas, 13 grandchildren; Kyla Knobbe, Ashley Knobbe, Britney Knobbe, Andy Shook, Konnor Knobbe, Alex Johnson, Heather (Johnson) Berard, Celeste (Hughes) Hall, Amber (Hughes) Lee, Mackenzie Knobbe, Whitney Knobbe, Kirstin Knobbe, Rachel Norick, Katie Bibb and Brandi Stogsdill.

  He is also survived by his 5 great-grandchildren;  Evan Hall, Carter Berard, Keegan Lee, Emma Stogsdill, and Lily Shook, siblings; Lucille Dean of Leoti, Kansas, Joann Barrows of Hutchinson, Kansas, Yvonne Schwindt of Ulysses, Kansas and Larry Knobbe of Marienthal, Kansas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family.  

          Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.
