The Holly Commercial Club was given a presentation of the plans for the new school during their monthly meeting, held last Wednesday, October 5, at the United Methodist Church.
Cory Thompson and Randy Holmen were present with display boards of design ideas for the new school, plans are expected to be finalized by November 1st. The project is expected to start as soon as winter breaks in the early spring of 2012 and completed by fall 2013 school year. The spring 2012 baseball schedule will not be held at Holly but perhaps at Granada due to the construction of the baseball diamond and grading of the athletic park. All other sports are expected to not be affected by the construction. The new building will be a two story building with an elevator and stairs. Elementary classes will be downstairs with preschool and grades 7 through 12 will be upstairs. The abatement of the Anna Bryce building is expected to begin in December of 2011. The existing Jr/Sr school building will not be removed until the new school is completed.
