Mattie E. Mills…January 21, 1917 – September 13, 2011

A celebration of life service for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Mattie E. Mills, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Lamar First Baptist Church.  Reverend Dave Davis will officiate the service.  Burial for Mrs. Mills will be held on Monday September 19, 2011 at 10:00AM at the Williams Cemetery in Welch, Oklahoma; Gary Reed of the Miami Christian Church will conduct the graveside services.
            Visitation for Mrs. Mills will be held on Thursday September 15, 2011 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at the Peacock Funeral Home in Lamar.
            Mattie was born on January 21, 1917 in Craig County, Oklahoma to Frank Alvin Broyles and Flossie Bell (Buckallew) Broyles and departed this life on Tuesday September 13, 2011 at the Prowers Medical Center in Lamar at the age of 94.
            Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband- Ralph Mills on July 13, 2002;an infant son- Larry Mills, brother; George Broyles and sisters; Nola Smith, Reva Wilkens and Joy Perkins.
            Mattie is survived by two children – Sue (Bob) Green of Northglenn, Colorado; and Victor (Joy) Mills of Hartsville, Missouri; by grandchildren – Mike (Lori) Green; Jerry (Heidi) Green; Rob (Jennifer) Green; Jason Keplar; Leroy Mills; Fred Keplar; and Jesse Mills and by eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Leslie Broyles of Baxter Springs, Kansas, Clyde Broyles of Eureka, California and Donna Gay (Derwood) Brewer of Neosho, Missouri as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
            Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar First Baptist Church either directly or through the funeral home office.
