The matchup between Hamburg, Arkansas and North Olympic, Washington was postponed from 7:30pm last night at Citizen’s Field due to weather, and is being played at 10am this morning.  It’s the last game needed to set the brackets for double elimination play for the Babe Ruth 16U Softball World Series on Saturday.

Thursday, August 11, Wilson County, North Carolina moved past Levittown, NY with a 1-0 shutout and Wausau, Wisconsin beat Lodi, CA 7 to 4 to advance.  Wilson County is already penciled in as the team to meet in the Championship game this Saturday.  The times have been changed for the final showdown, moved up to 1pm from 6pm and if a second game is needed, that will be played at 3:30 that afternoon.  There is a chance of more rain developing for our area for Saturday evening, which was one of the reasons for having the games played earlier.

For all the teams remaining in Lamar, it will be a long day.   Their busses will roll shortly after midnight Saturday to take the teams back to DIA and early morning flights out of Colorado for their journey home.
