Erling J. Christian — May 11, 1925 – August 1, 2011

Funeral services for Lamar resident and former longtime rural Holly, CO. resident Erling J. Christian will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday August 5, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel at Lamar, CO.. Pastor Gary Ogle will officiate and burial will follow in the Veterans section of Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar, CO.

Mr. Christian was born May 11, 1925 at Omega, OK. the son of  Joseph A. Christian and Dollie E. Kochenower-Christian. He departed this life on August 1, 2011 at Prowers Medical Center in Lamar, CO. at the age of 86.

Visitation for Erling will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday August 4, 2011 and prior to the funeral on Friday at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.

Mr. Christian was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Dollie Christian of Watonga, OK.; by a brother Bill Christian of Quincy, WA.; by two sisters Ethel Cullers of Johnson, KS. and Thelma Bassett of Albuquerque, NM.; and by a sister-in-law Lorna Christian of Carrier, OK.

Erling is survived by his wife Frances Christian of their home in Lamar, CO.; by five children Greg Christian of Holly, CO., David Christian of Colorado Springs, CO., Kenneth (Carla) Christian of Holly, CO., Patrick (Cheryl) Christian of Springfield, VA., and Margaret Christian of St. Charles, MO.; by five grandchildren; one sister Opal Christian of Lamar, CO.; by a brother Dennis Christian of Carrier, OK.; by a sister-in-law Laura Christian of Quincy, WA.; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.
