A Celebration of Life for former longtime Wiley resident, Billy B. Long will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Deacon Henry Wertin officiating. Flag presentation and playing of the Taps will be provided by the Lamar VFW Post #3621 and American Legion # 71, to conclude the chapel service.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 1:00PM until 5:00PM and Saturday, August 27, 2011 until service time at the Peacock Family Chapel.
Billy was born on July 12, 1936 at Appleton City, Missouri to Howard H. and Alma Mae (Robinson) Long and passed away on August 24, 2011 at Juniper Village at Lamar with his family by his side at the age of 75.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Roy Long, Glen Long and Don Long, sisters; Ruth Brown and Kay Creech, two infant siblings and a grandson; Matthew Downing.
Billy is survived by his wife; Beverly A. Long, children; Debbie (Jack) Evans, Janet (Dan) Johnsen, Randy (Tracy) Long all of Wiley, and Charlie (Heather) Scheck of Loveland, Colorado, grandchildren; Sonya Evans, Jenny Kliesen, Sarah Thompson, Teri Johnsen, Jerri Shaw and Jessica Long. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Noah Kliesen, Reid Kliesen, Roxy Kliesen and Gintri Shaw, siblings; Juanita Adams, Shirley Brown, Jack (Darline) Long all of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, Richard (Bertha) Long and Wayne (Sharon) Long of Brighton, Colorado as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice either direct or in care of the funeral home office. Services are under the direction of the Peacock Family.
