Retail Trades Plans Remainder of Summer Events

A brief meeting was held Wednesday, July 13, for the Lamar Chamber Retail Trades Committee members.  The discussion focused on the August sidewalk sales event, set for Saturday, August 6, from 10am to 4pm, downtown Lamar.  The sale will coincide with opening day games for this year’s 16U Babe Ruth Softball World Series in Lamar.  Committee members considered means of advertising the event to generate interest from visiting families.

Contributing vendors are still being sought for the second annual Farm Market off East Beech Street this summer.  The event, which features locally grown produce and locally crafted sale items, will run from August 6 and continue to the day of this year’s Fall Festival, slated for September 17.  The Farm and Crafters Market will be held between 8am and 11am every Saturday.  If you belong to a musical or entertainment group, the Chamber is interested in hearing from you to schedule performances during the fair.  The market is sponsored by the Chamber, LiveWell Prowers County and Lamar Partnership, Inc.

Call 719-336-4379 for booth space and any questions regarding the summer event.  Because of the Sand and Sage Fair and World Series games, there will be no Retail Trades meeting in August.
