Lee A. Bland– –November 10, 1917 – June 27, 2011

A celebration of life service for Holly, CO. resident Lee A. Bland will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday June 30, 2011 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, CO. Mr. Warren Folsom will officiate and burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery.

Mr. Bland was born on Nov. 10, 1917 at Melbourne, Arkansas to James E. Bland and Joyce L. Shirley-Bland and departed this life on Monday June 27, 2011 at the Holly Nursing Care Center in Holly with his family at his side at the age of 93.

Visitation for Mr. Bland will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday June 29, 2011 and from 9:00 A.M. to Service time on Thursday at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, CO.

Mr. Bland was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Bland of Holly, CO. on June 22, 1951 and Joyce L. Bland of Holly, CO. on Oct.1, 1983; by his wife Vera R. Bland of Holly, CO. on Oct. 10, 2008; by his son-in-law Arley Toews of Hesperia, CA. o Nov. 1, 2010; by his brother, Ben F. Bland of Holly, CO. on Jan. 26, 2008; and by his three sisters Hava Irene Nobles of Woodburn, OR. on April 10, 1957, Eura Mae Plunkett of Coolidge, KS. on Aug. 26, 1971 and Rhea Clarine Claunch of LaJara, CO. on June 19, 1990.

Lee is survived by his daughter Joyce “Elaine” Toews of Hesperia, CA.; by his son Lee “Andy” (Mary Beth) Bland of Goodyear, AZ.; by four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister Hildred (Jack) Simpson of Alamosa, CO.; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
