Parkview Retirees Honored

The Parkview Elementary School staff would like to invite the public to a reception on May 19th from 4:00-6:00 in the afternoon for three employees who are retiring. Between Mrs. Kathy Stiles, Mrs. Vicki Wilkinson, and Mrs. Sandee Bamber they have dedicated 95 years of their combined lives to students’ education. We want to honor their years of service with a community come-and-go reception in the school’s library. We invite current and former students, parents, grandparents, and the community at large.

Mrs. Kathy Stiles has been teaching at Parkview for 34 years and has 42 years in education. She has been teaching students of former students. She started teaching when mimeograph machines were in use; remember the purple ditto ink? My, how times have changes! Mrs. Stiles has certainly kept up with all the changes in education and technology. She will certainly be missed at Parkview.

Mrs. Vicki Wilkinson has been the face of Parkview for 25 years. Her smile and kind words at the front desk are a wonderful greeting to anyone who comes into our building. Her Leap Year birthday has been a fun fact for the students over the years. They love trying to figure out her age. She will miss the kids but not the doorbell’s incessant ringing.

Mrs. Sandee Bamber is retiring after 28 years in the district, 20 at Parkview. She had various jobs such as bus driver, copy aide, special education aide, kindergarten aide, and media clerk. The students at Parkview will miss her knowledge of books and the library. She can find any book in the library! She is looking forward to enjoying her life on their ranch south of Lamar.

Please come help us celebrate the difference these ladies have made in the lives of the students and staff at Parkview Elementary School. We will miss them all terribly!
