When LCC Cosmetology students learned that one of their instructors, Janet Tate, had been diagnosed with cancer, they decided to raise funds to help with medical expenses, doing what they do best.
The Rookies Salon got down to business this past Wednesday, May 4, styling hair and giving manicures from 8am to 6pm at the college. When all was done, the students had raised $1,600, according to instructor Charlotte Tallman. Tallman said the donations continued to come in on Thursday as well, and the students and clients enjoyed being able to assist the Tate family.
