Graduates Ready for the Future

 

Lamar Community College will host its seventy-second annual Commencement this Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the LCC Wellness Center at 10am.  No tickets are needed to attend the ceremonies featuring  234 degree or certificate-seeking students who are eligible to walk in this year’s commencement.  19 students will graduate with GED’s.

This year’s keynote speaker will be U.S. Representative Cory Gardner, a leading conservative voice in Colorado where he served in the state legislature for five years prior to being elected as the state’s congressional representative for District 4,

Kyle Dodge will be the student speaker this Saturday.  Andrew Westhoff will give the invocation, while Ashley Gutierrez will give the benediction.  Janae De la Virgin will sing the National Anthem.  Community member Josh Gagliardi will perform the processional and recessional.   A live webstream link is available at www.lamarcc.edu.

The annual Nursing Pinning ceremonies will begin at 3pm this Saturday, also at the Wellness Center.  32 graduates from the various LCC programs will be pinned.  Receptions for graduates and families will follow both events.
