Lamar Invitational Track Meet, Team Results

The weather remained brisk this past Saturday, March 26, for the annual Lamar Invitational Track meet at Savage Stadium, a pleasant change from the track meets the past couple of years when temperatures barely climbed into the 50s.

The Limon girls led the pack of competitors, racking up 93 points for a first place finish. They were followed by host team Lamar with 86 points. Third place went to Peyton with 63 and Florence followed for 4th with 47. Goodland and Fowler teams shared 5th place with 44 points each; Wiley took 7th place with 40; Eads had 38; John Mall with 32 and Kiowa and Springfield held down the 10th place position with 26 points each.

The Lamar boys track team also earned a second place finish with 77 points. Goodland had a firm lead on first place with 102 team points. Walsh just edged out Springfield for a 3rd place finish, 66 to 65; Florence finished in 5th with 48, Peyton followed with 43, Limon had 37, La Junta placed 8th with 33, Fowler finished with 26 and Eads took 10th with 21 points.
