Online students at Lamar Community College may be eligible for $1000 in scholarship funds to help them pursue a degree. Applicants for the Online Scholarship must be degree-seeking students enrolled in at least twelve online credit hours.
LCC offers a wide range of online courses through a partnership with the Colorado Community College System and CCCOnline. In addition to regular fifteen and ten week online offerings, CCCOnline offers several courses in a six week format. This variety in course lengths provides students with even more flexibility as they plan for their spring courses.
“Online courses give our students the opportunity to take courses we may not offer on campus”, stated Cheryl Sanchez, LCC Vice President of Academic Services and Student Services. “By utilizing the partnership between LCC and the Colorado Community College System, we have the ability to offer the same courses to our students as the Front Range schools offer to theirs.”
“Another added benefit to taking online courses from your hometown college is you have the ability to use the on-campus services, like the tutoring center and student services, to ensure you are successful.”
Online courses provide students the flexibility to work anywhere and at any time, making it possible to add a class into any schedule. LCC offers tutoring, online support, an online orientation, mentoring, and access to LCC’s computer lab for all online students. Every student in the program will also be assigned an Academic Advisor to assist in course selection.
