BROOMFIELD, Colo. – With the popularity of farmers’ markets continuing to increase, many markets are extending their seasons into winter months. In addition to a Winter Farmers’ Market List, the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s online Colorado Food and Agriculture Gift Guide and Colorado Christmas Tree List help connect holiday shoppers with local producers.

“Winter farmers’ markets are perfect places to find special holiday menu ingredients and gift ideas,” said Commissioner of Agriculture John Salazar. “You make a difference when you choose Colorado, and I encourage you to look for the Colorado Proud logo and buy local this holiday season.”

The Winter Farmers’ Market List includes markets offering special holiday events and winter hours. The Colorado Food and Agriculture Gift Guide lists companies that sell items ranging from gourmet baskets filled with sweets and snacks to appetizing meats and fresh produce. The Christmas Tree List identifies locations where individuals can find the perfect tree for their families including u-cut operations and information on cutting trees at national forests.
