Letter to the Editor–Water & CO History

Gregory Hobbs

Letter to the editor, Prowers Journal:

Last Friday, October 12, Colorado Supreme Court Justice Gregory Hobbs was at the Lamar Library to give a talk about water and Colorado. He told me after his presentation that his visit was arranged by Colorado Humanities and the Colorado Foundation for Water Education, of which he is First Vice-President.

I was privileged to meet Justice Hobbs during my tenure in the Colorado Legislature. He was one of the experts legislators turned to when we needed detailed and historical information about Colorado water law.  He always brought a wealth of knowledge and the ability to tie together complex concepts. His address in Lamar was very informative, educational, engaging, and entertaining, ranging from specific water law concepts to Colorado’s role in the Civil War. I always learn something from him, and I really appreciate those who arranged to bring him to Lamar!
