Beulah M. Madden…December 31, 1916 – January 21, 2012

A Celebration of Life for longtime Lamar resident, Beulah M. Madden will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Manuel Tamez of the Lamar Life Center Foursquare Gospel Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. 

Visitation for Mrs. Madden will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM as well as prior to the chapel service from 9:00 AM until service time. 

Beulah Mae Madden, the oldest of eight children, was born on December 31, 1916 at Amarillo, TX to Linus and Ruby (Stump) Taylor. She went to be with her Lord at the home of her daughter on January 21, 2012 with her family by her side. Beulah was 95. 

Beulah was married on June 1, 1935 to Lee F. Madden. They moved to Lamar in 1946, where they farmed.  She was active in her church and served in many capacities through more than 60 years. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Lee Madden on March 14, 2003, her parents, three year old brother John Linus Taylor and her sisters; Evelyn Bean, Tena Easley, Margie Grayson and Velma Shaver. 

Beulah is survived by her daughter Peg (Ken) Kelley of Lamar, granddaughter Nicki Chick of Colorado Springs, great grandson Kenny Chick of Denver, and a great granddaughter Kara (Darin) Manby of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also surviving are her sisters Pauline Erwin of Amarillo, TX and Lucille Briscoe of Clovis, NM, brothers-in-law Lester Shaver of Amarillo, TX and David Grayson of Kentucky. Several nieces, nephews, friends and her church family also survive. 

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice or to the Life Center Church for their mission work either direct or in care of the Peacock Funeral Home.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Peacock Funeral Home.
