Southeast Colorado CASA Ending Services

This announcement about the status of Southeastern Colorado CASA is a very difficult one to make. Due to a combination of unfortunate conditions, the Colorado CASA board of directors has made the decision to close Southeastern Colorado CASA effective December 15, 2011.

I want to take this opportunity to personally thank each and every one of you for your contribution to our program over the past three years. It was the hope of many, along with my own personal wish, that Southeastern Colorado CASA would serve abused and neglected children for years to come. However, I have had the privilege of seeing the results of the work that was accomplished while we were operating. Without our dedicated volunteers, donors and funders, we would not have been able to advocate for the many children we served.

I also want to thank each and every agency, case worker, attorney, and court employee who collaborated with Southeastern Colorado CASA. I learned invaluable information about the dependency and neglect process from each and every one of you. I witnessed your dedication to the improvement of the lives of children in our communities, and it inspired me every day.

We are currently in the process of working with our funders to determine how to dispose of the program’s remaining assets. Our office in Lamar is now closed. However, the telephone will remain operational until December 15th if you have questions and would like to contact me personally.

Thank you very much, and Happy Holidays too!

Sincerely,
Shelly Tombleson
Southeastern Colorado CASA
Program Manager
