Policy Revisions to be Reviewed for Monday RE-2 School Board Meeting

Eighteen policy revisions are scheduled to be approved on first reading during the Monday, August 8 school board meeting for the Lamar RE-2 district. 

Items range from school closings and cancellations to staff conduct, social networking, Code of Conduct, violet or aggressive behavior, regulations for student immunizations and regulations pertaining to professional staff recruiting and hiring. 

Personnel actions are also on the Monday night agenda including:  acceptance of the resignation of Scott Dorenkamp, Mathematics, Lamar High School; the hiring of Felize Dias, Extra Duty, Assistant Volleyball, LHS; Anthony Medina, Extra Duty, Volunteer Assistant Football, LHS; Michelle Larkin-Bellomy as Classified Substitute.   The board is expected to approve the Substitute Teacher List for the school year, as well as the Classified Substitute List. 

The Superintendent’s report will cover the CASB Annual Convention, Workmen’s Compensation, the Board/Administrator Retreat and In-Town Bussing.  Kenny Davis will provide the board with an update on report card recommendations and the quarterly financial report will also be presented.  The Lamar RE-2 School Board meeting begins at 7:30pm at the Alfred Young Administration building on West Pearl Street in Lamar.
